Dear Brother and Sister Ricks,
What a pleasure it was to welcome your son, Elder James Ricks, to the Utah Salt Lake City South Mission while he waits for his visa to clear so he can report to the Mexico, Veracruz Mission.
After prayerful consideration, Elder Jose Lopez and Elder Elpidio De Menezes have been assigned to be his trainers and missionary companions. Upon his arrival at the mission, he received instruction, met his trainer and went to work.
All letters and packages should be sent to the mission, addressed to your son at the address listed above. You might be interested to know that the mission has a blog at – utahslcsouthmission.blogspot.com – which we update frequently. We hope you will find the pictures and information contained there interesting and informative.
Elder Ricks is happy and in good spirits and we look forward to getting to know him as he serves in our mission. We will be happy to have him here as long as is necessary.
May the Lord’s choicest blessings be yours.
Sincerely,
Bruce E. Miller
Mission President
